Your PDI account will have Polling Place and Vote Center data roughly two weeks prior to Election Day. The purpose for providing this data is to help your organization communicate effectively with individuals planning to vote in-person or drop off their ballots. We display the assigned polling place or the nearest available vote center location to the voter’s residential address. The program will only display one location per voter address however it is common for voters to have multiple voting location options throughout their county.
Keep in mind, Polling Place and Vote Center data is election specific and will change with every election. Your account will need to be set to the correct election date to ensure the polling location information is correct for your upcoming election. You can set your account election date in General Account Settings page located under the Admin menu.
Where to find Polling Place / Vote Center Data
Electronic Data Output Files
Polling Place and Vote Center data can be viewed in most output files used for direct mail, phoning, or texting. The output file layout normally contain fields designated for polling place locations, however, the fields are only populated when the data becomes available prior to your Election Day.
PDI Online Phone Bank
PDI Phone Banks display the nearest or assigned polling location for each voter. This information will be automatically loaded for phone banks created before and after the polling location data is released.
PDI Mobile Canvassing App
The PDI mobile canvassing application will display assigned Polling Place and Vote Center data on the view household page.
It is important to note that if your mobile canvassing project is created before the polling locations were released in your account, you will need to refresh your canvassing projects to make the information viewable in the app. It is important to keep in mind that mobile projects should not be refreshed while canvassers are working. Do so will likely cause a disruption with normal use of the app until the refresh process is complete which should take up to ten minutes.
Viewing a Voter's Polling Location
You can also view a voter’s Polling Place and Vote Center using the People Search tool in the program. Simply lookup a voter and click on the PP icon in the actions section. If you do not see this option, you may need to click on the Edit Grid Fields and select Polling Site.
The polling location address and description will appear along with a map.
