Ready to Start Texting?

To get your texting capabilities up and running, we need to register you with the carrier for 10 DLC. Don’t worry, we’ll handle the entire registration process for you. All we need from you is your business name, CV token, and a few additional details. You can find more information and explanations below.

What is 10DLC?

10DLC (10-digit long code) is an A2P (application-to-person) messaging channel designed to enable businesses to send messages to their customers. By ensuring that brands and Campaign Service Providers (CSPs) are verified before being allowed to send messages, 10DLC helps to prevent spam and enhances the integrity of business communications.

Registering for 10DLC improves your message delivery by minimizing the risk of messages being blocked or filtered, resulting in faster and more reliable delivery and it’s more cost-effective.

Who Needs a CV Token?

The registration path depends on your organization type:

Political campaigns, committees, and PACs registered with the FEC or a state/local election authority are required to obtain a CV Token from Campaign Verify ($95 per 2-year election cycle) before registration can proceed.

Non-campaign organizations such as nonprofits, advocacy groups, and other non-political entities, do not need a CV Token. PDI will submit your registration through standard TCR vetting, where your brand is assigned a Trust Score (0–100) that determines your messaging throughput and daily message limits.

Not sure which path applies to you? Contact us at texting@politicaldata.com and we'll help you get started.

How to Register for 10DLC?

To start using 10DLC for your business messaging, follow these steps to complete the registration process:

1. Provide your CV Token:

  •  If you already have a Campaign Verify Token provide your existing CV token. Make sure the token has not already been used. Each token is intended for one-time use, so you can generate new tokens as needed for different campaigns or purposes. For more information, visit Campaign Verify.
  • If you don’t have a CV Token: Sign Up for a CV Token here. This step requires a one-time registration fee of $95.

2.  Add a Mobile Opt-In Page to Your Website: Create a page on your website for collecting mobile opt-ins. Here is an example. Ensure your opt-in form includes:

  • Clear opt-in language: Here is a sample: By checking box, you are agreeing to receive informational SMS text messages regarding campaign updates and voter outreach text messages from Khachatryan for College Board 2026. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Text HELP for help or more information. Text STOP to end messages. Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions
  • A checkbox for user consent.
  • Links to your privacy policy page: The privacy policy page should state: Personally Identifiable Information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes
  • Donation statement if it will be solicited

3. Complete the 10DLC Registration Form:

  • Once you have gathered the information from Step 1 and Step 2, fill out the 10DLC registration form from the Online Campaign Tool.
  • Navigate to: Outreach > Texting > 10DLC Registration Setup.

4. Brand Registration:  Once you submit the form with all the details, we will set up your brand the same day. Brand registration with a CV token is quick, and you can start texting as soon as carriers approve your brand’s campaign. This usually takes 2 -5 days on average.

What is Campaign Verify?

Campaign Verify is a secure, non-partisan, nonprofit verification solution for U.S. political actors seeking to verify their identity and engage with voters via text messaging

Campaign Verify aims to prevent spoofing and disinformation in political messaging by acting as the verification layer for campaigns, committees, and PACs. CV serves the wider 10DLC ecosystem as the political vetting partner for The Campaign Registry.

How does it work?

Campaign Verify

  • Validates that campaigns are in fact who they say they are
  • Creates authentication tokens that signal to The Campaign Registry, carriers, and service providers that they have been verified

By requiring campaigns to have a verification token, Campaign Verify aims to prevent bad actors from spoofing a campaign and increase trust in the messaging ecosystem.

Verification costs $95 per verification request per 2-year election cycle.

Who is eligible for CV verification?

  • Any campaign, committee, or PAC registered with FEC
  • Any State, Local, or Tribal candidate or committee registered with an election authority

What is the format of a CV token?

A full CV token is comprised of 6 pipe (|) delimited fields
