Introduction
As canvassing data is sent from the mobile canvassing devices to the PDI program, that data is set aside for quality control and validation. Field managers will need to approve all mobile canvassing flag data before it goes into your account database.
The Approve Mobile Data page allows you to review all of the data that is waiting to be approved or rejected, and all of the data that has been previously approved or rejected. The page features multiple reports all with various levels of detail. Combining all of these reports together will provide you with a complete picture of your canvassers' efforts.
- To access the Approve Mobile Data page, hover the mouse over the Outreach section of the Navigation Menu, click on Door to Door Canvassing, and click Approve/Review Canvasser Work in the sub-menu.
Mobile Data Approval Overview
The Approve and Review Field Canvassing Data page features four types of reports: Show Canvasser Data, Show Processed History, Show Route on Map, and Show Canvasser Details. There are three sub-types of Show Canvasser Data: Pending Only, Approved Only, and Pending and Approved. Viewing all of these reports will give you a complete look at your canvassers' efforts.
You can select the type of report you want to view in the Method of Canvass Data Review dropdown menu.
The Filter by Canvassing Project drop-down menu will filter your reports to the selected Mobile Canvassing Project. If you choose All Projects, you will not see responses to survey questions; to see responses, select one Canvassing Project to view.
Activating the Auto Save All Assignments Daily checkbox will automatically approve all data coming back from your Mobile Canvassing Projects back into your Organization Account.
Once you have selected the report you want to view, click the Process Report button to view the report below. You can also click the Export button to download the report as a spreadsheet.
To view the report with percentages, activate the Show Flag Data % checkbox.
Show Data Pending Approval
The Show Data Pending Approval page displays all of your currently pending assignments. By default, this page will give you a very basic overview of your pending data. However, filtering to a Mobile Canvassing Project will display additional statistic about each Survey Question.
The Show Data Pending Approval report allows you to approve data in two ways: you can either approve an entire assignment, or just approve canvassing that pass Geo and Time checks.
Note: Individual households can be approved can be approved in the Assignment Details report. The Assignment Details report is accessed by clicking on the name of the canvasser.
The list of canvassers can be filtered using the Organizer drop-down menu, and the From and To textboxes. If you use the Filter By Canvassing Project drop-down menu to select a Mobile Canvassing Project, the report will display the flag count for each survey question in the Mobile Canvassing Project.

The Show Processed History page displays a simple overview of the data that was collected. This page will list the number of records that were approved, rejected, and currently pending.
The Show Processed History page allows you to quickly review the canvassing data that you have processed from each canvasser. The report can be filtered by using the Status drop-down menu and the From and To textboxes. Clicking on the Pending, Approved, or Rejected buttons will bring you to the Assignment Details report, and will display the information from the selected category. The date filters will filter approved and rejected data to the date the assignments was last approved or rejected, not the date it was collected.
Assignment Details
The Assignment Details page is accessed by clicking on the name of a canvasser in the Show Data Pending Approval report, or clicking on either the Approved, Rejected, or Pending button in the Show Processed History report.
The Assignment Details page can be used to view three different types of data: Pending, Approved, and Rejected. When using the report to approve data, you are given the advantage of approving or rejecting data on a house by house basis rather than approving or rejecting the whole assignment at the same time. While reviewing Pending data you will be presented with the option to either Reject or Approve the data into your Organization Account. Reviewing Rejected data will provide you with option to Approve the data into your Organization Account. Reviewing Approved data will just give you the option to review the canvassing data that was approved.
Warnings
When viewing a canvassers pending history the system will provide a warning if it detects a problem with the data. The details for each icon can be seen below.
- Distance (Arrow) – Indicates that the ID was processed from a distance greater than 300 feet from the location coordinates in the PDI system.
- Location (House image) – This image appears when five (5) houses are process at the exact same location.
- Timing (clock) – Identifies IDs processed within a two (2) minutes time frame.
These warnings may not always be the appropriate measurement of a problem, but should definitely capable of identifying questionable patterns.

Show Route on Map
The Show Route on Map page will display your canvassers' walk path on a map. This will allow you to quickly review a canvasser's walk path to determine if their canvassing is authentic or forged.
The points on the map are determined by the GPS location provided to use by the county, and/or by the canvasser's actual location. The lines drawn on the map are lines of the canvasser's actual location and walking path using the "Show Canvassers Location" check box, and the other check box "Show House Location" is the actual house location from the county data. You will likely want to use this page as a supplement to get a better idea on how your canvassers are walking.
- The Filter By Status drop-down menu allows you to filter the group of Canvassers and Assignments in the list on the right side of the screen to only that assignment type.
- The Search Canvassers textbox allows you to filter the group of Canvassers and Assignments in the list on the right side of the screen to the name entered in the textbox.

The Show Canvasser Details page displays the specifics of the canvassing. This page displays the name of the canvasser, the assignment, the name of the voter, the voter's PDI ID, the voter's phone number, the date and time the flag was collected, the question they were asked, and their response.
